Madurai, Kanyakumari and Rameshwaram Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Today as per the schedule, on your arrival at Madurai Airport / Railway station, you will be received by our Guest Relations Executive, who will then introduce our driver to you. You will then proceed your journey towards Kanyakumari, which is the southernmost tip of India. It is unique in nature where the three oceans (Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal & Indian Ocean) meet. It is popularly called as “Triveni Sangamam” and Kanyakumari is the most identified place to view the Sunrise and Sunset in the sea. Upon arrival check in at hotel and later visit Vivekananda rock memorial – where Spiritual leader “Swamy Vivekananda” meditated in this rock surrounded by water through his journey for enlightenment, Tiruvalluvar – who is the philosopher and great poet of Tamil literature, has a statue here that is of 133 feet which denotes 133 chapters in the “universal scripture Thirukkural”. Then visit the most famous Kumari Amman Temple which is dedicated to goddess Parvathi. In early days, legend says that her bright diamond nose stud of the goddess serves like a lighthouse to the fisherman in sailing their boat in the sea and to return to the shore in night time. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset and walk along the beach. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2
Early morning view the Sunrise in Kanyakumari which is a wonderful sight to enjoy. After breakfast check out from hotel and drive towards Rameshwaram, a small island that serves as a holy pilgrimage site for Hindus and is also referred as South Kasi. It is the most sacred spot which can eradicate all our sins and ill luck. This city also has the most serene sea. Upon arrival check in at hotel and free for a while. Later you can visit the most famous Ramanathaswamy temple – main deity here is Lord Shiva in the form of Jyotirlinga & 22 holy wells are located inside the temple. This temple takes one part in ancient Indian Epic “Ramayana” where Lord Rama (incarnation of Lord Vishnu) worshipped Lord Shiva in the form of sand. Gandhamadhana Parvatham, also known as Ramar Theertham, where Lord Rama’s’ footprint can be seen on chakra for worship. Panchamuga Hanuman Temple – this temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and the five face denotes five deities namely Hanuman, Narasimha, Adivaraha, Hayagriva and Garuda. One can see the floating stones outside the temple which was used to build the bridge across the sea, from Rameshwaram to Srilanka. Overnight stay at hotel in Rameshwaram.
Day 3
This morning after breakfast depart from Kodaikanal and continue your drive towards Kodaikanal - most popular hill stations in South India and also called “Princess of hill stations”. The scenic beauty of nature, misty cloud and cool climate are mesmerizing. The magic of this place is the climate throughout the year welcomes everyone and is ideal spot of honeymooners. Upon arrival check in at hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Kodaikanal.
Day 4
This day after breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Kodaikanal which includes Kurunji Aaandavar temple – dedicated to lord Muruga. This temple has been named after Kurunji flowers that blossoms in the tree inside the temple. It blossoms once in 12 years. Guna caves – it was earlier called as Devils’ kitchen. It is a deep narrow valleys of the caves, ideal for adventure lovers. Pine forest – it has massive pine trees where we can enjoy long walk and is one of the best options for photography. Pillar rock is another awesome view point in which huge pillar shaped rocks surrounded by misty clouds, never fails to attracts everyone. Green valley view will make anyone thrilled because it is a deep and dangerous valley point which is more than 5000 feet & is also popularly called as “Suicide point”. Bryant Park is an attractive botanical garden in Kodaikanal where variety of flowers, hybrids makes us feel fresh. Kodai Lake is an artificial manmade lake where we can enjoy boating. Coakers walk – gives a panoramic view of valley while walking along the path. If you are interested, you can enjoy some more activities like cycling, horse riding etc. Overnight stay at Kodaikanal.
Day 5
Today as per the schedule, depart from Kodaikanal and drive to Madurai, the city popularly referred as “City of Festivals”, “Temple City”, etc. It has numerous names and is a unique destination for Tamil literature and culture. Upon arrival check in at hotel and later visit Gandhi Museum. This memorial museum is dedicated to The Father of Nation “Mahatma Gandhi” & it has huge collections of objects used by him during his lifetime. Thirumalai Nayak Palace is another important palace, built in 17th century by Nayak dynasty. The main attraction is Italian architecture and this palace belonged to King Thirumalai Nayakar who lived here. Next is the Meenakshi Amman temple, dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi (Parvathi) & God Sundareshwarar (Shiva). Unique nature of this temple is that there will always be some festival, conducted throughout the year. Chitirai festival is the most important one which explains the history of Goddess Meenakshi who ruled Madurai & got married to Lord Sundareshwarar. Thiruparankundram Temple, one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga is a rock cut temple where Lord Muruga married Deivayanai, the divine daughter of the king of heaven Indra. Overnight stay at hotel in Madurai.
Day 6
Today as per the schedule of your flight / train, check out from hotel and you will be transferred to Madurai Airport / Railway station for your onward journey to home with sweet memories.
